Our Lady of the Lake 2024 Restoration project

During the Masses held at Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday, December 9th and Sunday, December 10th, parishioners were presented with information about the upcoming 2024 restoration project for Our Lady of the Lake. This initiative aims to address infrastructure issues on the south side of the church and the bell tower.

The church's aging structure, coupled with its proximity to a busy highway, subjecting it to constant vibrations from heavy trucks and seasonal exposure to de-icing chemicals, has led to an accelerated deterioration of the stone. Weathering of stone surfaces, deep cracking, and loss of portions of the stones (as depicted in the photos) have resulted in significant damage over time. The restoration project will involve patching and replacement of damaged stone and bricks, removal and replacement of caulking sealant, and other related work.

Funding for the project will be sourced from grants, unutilized funds, and generous contributions. The estimated cost, including a contingency for unforeseen expenses, is approximately $420,000.

If you were unable to attend the Masses with the video presentation, a PDF file containing the discussed information and the proposed masonry repair budget is available below.

We encourage you to reflect prayerfully on how you can contribute to addressing the challenges of maintaining our aging facilities. Our commitment to this endeavor ensures a lasting legacy for future generations of our Catholic Faith.

    Catholic Services appeal 2024-25

     Catholic Services Appeal 2024/2025

“United in the Eucharist:  Empowered for Mission”

No parish could exist on its own without the annual Catholic Services Appeal (CSA). It is a “united parish” campaign that funds over thirty vital programs, services, and ministries throughout our 16-county Diocese. As wide-ranging as they are, they have one thing in common. They touch each one of us! The Appeal reaches across parish boundaries, tying us together with a common thread in areas of Education, Service, Worship, Prayer, Social Concern, Charity and so much more.

All families are encouraged to support the Catholic Services Appeal. By giving to the CSA, you are answering God’s call to discipleship to put the work of God before your own needs.  Every dollar contributed to the Appeal assists our parishes in offsetting our yearly share of financial responsibility to our Diocesan Church.

    2024/25 CSA Parish Goals

Our Lady of the Lake, Ashland $44,755

    St. Peter, Dauby $ 4,818

    St. Florian, Ino $ 2,363

    St. Mary, Odanah $ 3,333

    Ss. Peter & Paul, Moquah $ 4,176

You have several options available to support the CSA this year:

    1. Pledge and Payment Plans: You can choose to make a pledge and spread your payments over several months, allowing for greater flexibility in your giving. Alternatively, you can opt for a one-time gift.
    2. Online Donation: To make a donation online, simply click on one of the links provided below this message, corresponding to your parish of choice.

In addition to these options, you can explore alternative avenues for your generosity:

    • Corporate Matching Gift Program: Check whether your employer offers a Corporate Matching Gift Program, which could potentially double the impact of your donation.
    • Donor Advised Fund: Consider contributing from a Donor Advised Fund if you have one.
    • Appreciated Stocks or Securities: Another option for support is donating appreciated stocks or securities.

Regardless of the method you select, please know that your gift will be deeply appreciated and will have a positive impact on the lives of others. We genuinely thank you for your consideration and support.

    RaiseRight

    formerly ShopWIthScrip

Scrip fundraising has been rebranded to become RaiseRight. RaiseRight still is the same great gift card fundraising program, formerly known as ShopWithScrip, with a new name.

Whatever your gift needs might be - a new graduate, newlyweds, or a special gift for Father’s Day - RaiseRight has something for everyone on your gift list. Money is raised by using gift cards, instead of cash or credit cards, for purchases from vendors such as Amazon, Target, Bath & Body Works, Barnes & Noble, Menards, and other local businesses for your everyday purchases of gas and groceries.

Many of the cards are in stock!

Please stop in at the Pastoral Center or visit RaiseRight.com to place your gift card order.  SCRIP sellers can also usually be found set up in the foyer after the 6PM and 9AM Masses on the weekends of the 1st & 3rd Saturdays.
