One of the great commands our God gives us, is to comfort and care for the infirm and elderly. To aid us in this task He offers us the grace and strength of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is: “A particular gift of the Holy Spirit. The first grace of this sacrament is one of strengthening, peace and courage to overcome the difficulties that go with the condition of serious illness or the frailty of old age. This grace is a gift of the Holy Spirit, who renews trust and faith in God and strengthens us. in the face of death. This assistance from the Lord by the power of His Spirit is meant to lead the sick person to healing of the soul, but also of the body if such is God’s will. Furthermore, “if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (CCC 1520). Receiving the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is recommended at the time of grave illness, hospitalization or before surgery. To receive the sacrament, please contact the parish priest at 715-685-1727 or the parish office at 715-682-7620. In addition, there are communal anointing services during the year.
